- Monitor market trends and develop optimal marine coverage strategy. Analyze and define best marine transportation options.
- Identify optimal vessel, negotiate rates and charter party terms. Negotiate Spot in/out charters, Contracts of Affreightment (COA), and short-term/ long-term time charters.
- Provide market research, vessel availability and freight economics, projects and commercial trading organizations.
- efine all commercial and contractual details for negotiated charter party terms. Coordinate closely with schedulers to nominate tonnage in a manner that will optimize system freight costs, minimize demurrage and ensure timely delivery of cargoes.
- Communicate and liaise with shipowners and utility companies, network and maintain relationship with market players i.e. ship-owners, brokers, customers, and end-users to keep abreast of market developments and opportunities.
- Coordinate with Business Intelligence team to build a fundamental model to help taking the decisions in the shipping strategy.
- Coordinate, analyze, and implement the preparation of document for transportation plan of vessel (Loading / Discharge Instruction, Instruction for Ballast and Laden Voyage) to ensure all required documents are complete.
- Coordinate and analyze the review process and calculation of shipping operations expenses, covering fuel-bunker, ship maintenance.
- Coordinate, monitor and analyze fuel bunker consumption, ship maintenance, dry-docking and activity during operation to ensure all processes are completed effectively according to procedures.
- Coordinate and analyze the consolidation of information and reports on issues during loading, sailing and discharging activity to ensure availability of timely report to related parties.
- Coordinate and participate in the compatibility study between ship and shore for buyers’ terminal to ensure all requirements and conditions are incorporated for effective and efficient shipping operation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Economics. MBA or a relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in commercial role, with a proven track record of long-term commercial deals in LNG or Ammonia business.
- Able to analyze market data, develop models, use derivatives and identify commercial opportunities
- Effective negotiating skills; Good commercial judgment
- Strong analytical capability
- Able to think independently, self-motivate, and be a team player
- Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage cross-cultural relationships internally and externally with experience in Asian cultures as well as Middle Eastern cultures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multinational team is essential.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Excellent communication skills, proficiency in speaking and writing in English, working level Asian languages is preferred.
