The Bioengineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to join our team as faculty members. KFUPM is a leading engineering university in the Middle East, and we are committed to providing our students with an exceptional education in bioengineering. The Bioengineering Department is a new and rapidly growing department. We offer a BSc and MSc degrees in bioengineering and life sciences. Our research areas include bioinformatics, biosystems, and biomaterials.We are seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Biosystems: Biodevices, Diagnostic Assays, Biosensors, BioMEMS, Medical Technologies.
Biomaterials: Nanomedicine, Drug Delivery Systems, Nano vaccines, Tissue Engineering
Job Responsibility
Conduct cutting-edge research in areas mentioned above, aiming for publication in high-impact journals and securing external funding.
Develop and teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in bioengineering, ensuring effective delivery and student engagement.
Supervise graduate students, providing guidance and mentorship throughout their research journey.
Contribute to departmental growth and development through committee participation, outreach activities, and collaboration with colleagues.
Maintain active professional networks and engage in scholarly activities beyond research and teaching.
Compensation & BenefitsTwo-year renewable contract. Competitive tax-free salaries based on qualifications and experience. All KFUPM faculty are offered free furnished air-conditioned on-campus housing unit with free essential utilities and maintenance. The appointment includes the following benefits according to the University's policy: air ticket/s to Dammam upon appointment; annual repatriation air ticket/s for up to four persons; a contribution towards local tuition fees for school-age dependent children; local transportation allowance; two months' paid summer leave in addition to mid-semester breaks; free health care at KFUPM Clinic; end-of-service gratuity after two (2) years of continuous service. Qualifications
A Ph.D. in bioengineering or a related field
A strong record of research and scholarship
A commitment to teaching and mentoring students
Experience in working in a collaborative environment
