The ACIO possesses the expertise to provide technological vision to support scientific teaching, administration and research, and outreach activities.Job PurposeTo cater network services.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMajor Duties/ Responsibilities:· Accomplishing information systems and organization mission by completing network related requirements as needed· Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with technology providers on network optimization.· Managing and administering PMU IP Telephony Call Manager Suite i.e. Call Manager Publisher, Subscriber, Contact Center, Instant messaging and presence, Expressway E & C, Unified Contact Center and Unity Connection.· In order to deliver Universities requirements of delivering latest technologies, updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional events.· Administering and managing library online services aside from securing them by means of SSL certificate.· Administering and managing Universities local and cloud infrastructure connectivity.· Load balancing Universities major business applications.· Building and initiating RFQ’s (Request for Quotation) to fulfill different network related requirements.· Second level of support to sister companies like PMPYD & Princes Jawhara center.· Maximizing network performance while supporting remote users.Routine Responsibilities:· Monitor and managing network part of VCE Vblock.· Managing and administering PMU Wireless network.· Planning and coordination concerning the implementation of network projects.· Monitoring and administering university network to ensure maximum performance and uptime.· Monitoring and managing University’s Core, Distribution, Edge switches.· Monitoring and managing University’s Wan and IP VPN.· Investigating new technologies to enhance PMU wired and Wireless network.· Monitoring and managing University's Internet & VPN Links and routers.· Addressing complex network problems.· Assisting first level team on escalated issues / reported problems.· Managing and monitoring Application Server Load Balancers.· Testing and installation of service packs, new software and software version upgrades as needed.· Providing onsite support as required.Future Plans:· Enhancing PMU Lan Network to make it future ready for supporting feature rich business applications.· Wireless Network refresh so as to overcome BYOD challenges.· Advance network monitoring & optimization solution to have a centralized monitoring.· Network admission control for restricting unauthorized access to PMU Lan.· Bandwidth Optimization (for online services).· Establishing Disaster recovery center to manage critical situations.· Addressing task related glitches.Qualifications & Experience (Required)
A bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to the position or equivalent.
At least 7-10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
