We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Libraries & Media to manage and operate a key learning environment used by the whole school community. The Head of Libraries & Media will be responsible for the acquisition, organization, and dissemination of resources appropriate to the learning needs of the full age and ability range within Riyadh Schools. They will work in partnership with the Director of Curriculum & Assessment and the School Development Team to implement the library action plan across their 5+ schools. The Head of Libraries & Media will lead a team of library staff to improve the use of library resources in engaging students in learning & research. They will work collaboratively with Vice Principals and Instructional Leaders to bring library resources into classrooms.The Riyadh Schools are one of Saudi’s top tier private schools, located in central Riyadh. Experience with Common Core standards is considered an asset.Responsibilities:Manage and operate a major learning environment used by the whole school community.Responsible for the acquisition, organization, and dissemination of resources appropriate to the learning needs of the full age and ability range within Riyadh Schools.Work in partnership with the Director of Curriculum & Assessment and the School Development Team to implement the library action plan across the schools.Responsible for the effective implementation of information literacy strategies as a part of school teaching & learning programs.Responsible for the management & upkeep of all school libraries as 21st century media centers in line with the AASL Standards.Lead a team of library staff to improve the use of library resources in engaging students in learning & research.Work collaboratively with instructional leaders to bring library resources into classrooms.Work cooperatively with Vice Principals to develop & implement various initiatives, such as the blended learning model, foundational literacy instruction, cross-curricular projects, research, the Enterprise Project, PD workshops, guest speakers, and other 21st Century skills into each of our schools.Ensure we devote our resources equitably to the purchase & promotion of Arabic & English language texts.Ensure any material produced for sharing across schools is available in both languages before it is released.Lead a team of trained personnel from all schools to plan the explicit teaching of the AASL Standards, to ensure their alignment with the CCSS and Ministry Standards, to conduct regular PLTs, and to design timetables for library visits for all students (in both languages).Support the school's digital initiative where teachers use laptops, iPads & Smartboards with students to engage them in learning & support them to become inquisitive & innovative learners through the use of cutting-edge technology.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.Experience as a classroom teacherExcellent organizational and management skills.Knowledge of AASL Standards and 21st-century learning.Ability to work collaboratively with instructional leaders to bring library resources into classrooms.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Previous experience in a primarily English as an Additional language setting would be an advantage.Riyadh Schools:Our mission is clear- to develop leaders of the future.
