Job Description:Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Legal Counsel to join our team!Manage the legal, contract and procurement activities for all of Parsons’ operations in the Middle East and Africa (the “Region”), assess risks, review and negotiate all types of agreements, support all projects and internal departments on as needed basis. Play an active role in providing quality contracts, and in-house legal services across the Region and beyond.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare contractual and commercial risk assessment for requests for proposal and provide support during the pre-tendering stage.
  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
  • Review and draft internal policies/procedures and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
  • Advise on and ensure that internal company processes, procedures and corporate governance are complied with.
  • Advise on changes in regulations and prepare gap analysis.
  • Advise on contractual issues, legal matters, and potential risks to support all functions including HR, finance, tax, operations, etc.
  • Manage the corporate governance affairs of particular Parsons’ entities, such as licenses issuance, license renewal, corporate restructuring, etc.
  • Support dispute resolution processes, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, by providing legal analysis, strategy formulation, and liaising with external counsels as may be needed.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing contracting processes, revise existing procedures and/or templates or draft new ones.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Required Education/ Experience/ Skills/ Competencies and Technical Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law.
  • Admission to the bar as a fully qualified lawyer preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic is a must.
  • Experience working at least 3 years of legal experience in the Region and in particular in Saudi Arabia.
  • Experience working in an international company, ideally in the fields of engineering consultancy/construction, or in an international law firm.
  • Excellent knowledge of Saudi Arabian laws, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, motivated, committed, works well under stress and willing to travel.
