They are one of the world’s largest oil producers. They are constantly growing by creating new technologies through its Research and Development efforts and branch into new business lines through Investments and Acquisitions.Responsibilities:
  • Advises Corporate Management on the development of the Company’s strategic goals and plans for its hydrogen and wider new energies business.
  • Contributes to the Company’s corporate strategy development and update process, especially as it pertains to articulating and crafting its new energies strategy, including coordination with other business strategists and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the organization and the various business and support lines.
  • Guides the delivery of the corporate consultancy projects focused on hydrogen and supports the development of hydrogen demand and supply scenarios, technology roadmaps and investment planning
  • Generates and proposes to executive management strategic options for hydrogen business development and market opportunities backed up with the appropriate analysis.
  • Reviews the Company’s business and investment plans in the new energies and hydrogen space, and lead the strategic fit assessment of key investments, to ensure alignment with the Company’s strategic plan.
  • Facilitates periodic corporate-wide strategy execution reviews to measure progress of the new energies’ strategy, and identify early warning signs and recommend potential improvements.
  • Independently initiates and prepares research on wide-ranging topics that look into long-term scenarios and strategic considerations that could impact the Company’s strategy and competitive advantage in its new energies – and hydrogen – business. Also, prepares research and special studies as required for the Strategy & Market Analysis organization and various Corporate Committees.
  • Cultivates key matrix relationships across the organization, and be able to persuade counterparts at different levels and advance corporate strategic thinking to ensure the organization is proactive in developing or adjusting its strategy.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with industry experts, consultancies, and best-in-class companies, keeping abreast of key developments in the new energies space and other arenas that could impact the company’s strategy.
  • Mentoring, managing and coaching junior staff.
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office tools or equivalent, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Management or closely related discipline; advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Have 10+ years of experience in developing and advising on hydrogen and new energies projects with a major integrated energy company, industrial gases company, chemicals company, consulting firm or financial institution, with at least 5 years in a strategy or corporate planning function.
  • Must have a deep understanding of the latest energy industry trends. Specifically, the candidate must be well-versed in the new energies space overall – and hydrogen in specific -, including market and investment trends, policy and regulatory environment, commercialization, technologies and market entry strategies.
  • Must have technical or project experience with hydrogen supply systems and commercial deployment will be a distinctive advantage
  • Must have experience with economic analysis and modelling tools for new energy sectors
  • Must have a proven ability to effectively challenge conventional thinking, and influence others to do the same.
  • Must have a proven ability to quickly build and maintain positive and effective networks with internal and external stakeholders of all organizational levels.
  • Must have a proven ability to develop a positive, effective and collaborative rapport with senior management, co-workers, and stakeholders using tact and diplomacy.
  • Must have demonstrative ability to effectively coach and mentor multi-national junior staff.
  • Must have excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office tools or equivalent, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
