- Ensure design deliverables are prepared with meticulous consideration for applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare specifications, conduct technical evaluations, review supplier documentation, and expedite with suppliers.
- Apply mechanical and HVAC engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria for shipbuilding designs through thorough calculations.
- Interface with other departments to incorporate the most up-to-date input applicable to the designs.
- Maintain the required technical quality of work in all deliverables.
- Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
- Ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Attend and contribute to factory inspection reports.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to the scheduled completion of engineering documents.
- Capture all changes/modifications in the deliverables initiated by the project prior to their release.
- Ensure appropriate checking and review of all documents and drawings before release at any revision status.
- Attend project review meetings and actively participate.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, customers, and suppliers.
- Ensure supplier documentation is received on time to facilitate project timelines.
- Maintain control of the quality of engineering documents based on quality assurance criteria.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies and procedures.
- Take responsibility for change management and identify risks related to assigned activities.
- Propose design improvements and share lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- at least 3 - 9 years in the engineering design department of any offshore shipbuilding or shipbuilding industry.
- Experience as an EPC contractor and/or consultant is preferred.
