2. Identifies which items can be re-sterilized and re uses per manufacturer instruction and tracking method strictly followed. Checks and ensures the sterilizer was used correctly.
3. Maintains a safe clean environment inside the CSSD facility.
4. Uses Standard safety precautions/PPEs while working with Bio hazardous materials, toxic materials, steam and gas without harm to self and others.
5. Works in accordance with all safe policies/ procedures of the facility
6. Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests;
building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods
7. Seeks information to make sure are able to competently and safety perform any work they undertake and are aware of the risk
and hazards associated with their work.
8. Attends all mandatory training as scheduled.
9. Reports all incidents/injuries.
10.Provides and facilitates appropriate training and ongoing support to all the staff. Consults and coordinates with health care team members to verifyiny queries. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
11. Coordinates and complies with Quality improvement infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions.
12. Performs other QI responsibilities as delegated from time to time by the Nursing Unit Manager.
13. Performs all procedures in the CSSD set-up according to scope of service practice. Decontamination Area, Cleaning and Disinfection, 14.Inspection and Tray Assembly, Packaging, Sterilization, Sterile Storage and Dispensing.
15. Removes breeding ground for surviving microorga nisms. Maintains accurate, detailed monitoring records.
Protects against corrosion.
16. Proper disinfection or decontamination by chemical or dry or wet heat. _ I
17. Ensures validation of Sterilization process by quality control (e.g. physical monitoring, chemical indicator monitoring, biological indicator monitoring) in pressurized high temperature steam method or plasma sterilization should meet the stringent technical standard for performance and safety.
18. Ensures the sterility of the products until they are used by integrity of the package.
19. Follows step in the sterile supply cycle, which is crucial to a good and safe use of the sterile instruments or other sterile supply.
20. Ensures safe free movement of eqkiipment's and materials durintpackagng.
21. Failing, non-functioning, broken instrument should be documented in the monitoring logbook and to replace immediately. Soiled materials, * 22. instruments are collected and transported in suitable containers and trolleys to the location where the re-processing will takes place (CSSD).23.Seeks assistance and escalates operational issues to sterilization technologist / unit manager
24.Maintains a suitable learning environment for staff and act as a facilitator in the supervision and teaching of less experienced staff.
25. Attends orientationQualificationsDiploma in Sterilization Technician course BLS and Saudi License Clinical practice with 2 years' experience of nursing In a clinically complex tertiary center. Working knowledge of Performance Improvement Process and International Standards. Able to work on rotating shifts, morning, evening and nights, weekends and holidays and may be on call. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Arabic desirable. Valid Nursing Licensure from the Country of Origin upon appointment BLS
