About the job Trade Resources Management DirectorOne of our prestigious clients is looking to hire a Trade Resources Management Director, with 9+ years of experience In the Shipbuilding industry who will be responsible for but not limited to:Job OverviewEfficiently manage and optimize the allocation of skilled trade workers for shipbuilding and maintenance projects. Oversee the recruitment, scheduling, selection and deployment of workers to meet project demands, while ensuring that the necessary resources are available at the right time and place throughout the Shipbuilding and MRO operations.Strategic Responsibilities
  • Align section goals, processes, and resource allocation with the organizational strategy while maintaining awareness of commercial and business objectives.
  • Ensure the accomplishment of organizational unit objectives by managing staff;
planning and evaluating organizational unit activities. * Define objectives, identifies, and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course ofaction, and evaluates outcomes. * Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annualbudget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. * Support with strategic problems resolution and subjective decision making.Managerial Responsibilities
  • Supervise the entire work done by the team members and making sure it is completed on time without any delay.
  • Lead the team to complete tasks and meet goals through delegation of responsibilities and supervising business operations.
  • Set the vision and motivation of the team in order to achieve the sought objectives
efficiently. * Set appropriate and achievable deadlines.
  • Track and report critical organizational unit performance results and escalate and
negotiate business related issues to senior management. * Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.Functional Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies for allocating skilled trade workers to various shipbuilding and
maintenance projects based on project requirements and timelines. * Create and manage worker schedules, including shift assignments and overtime when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of trade worker assignments, hours worked, and project
specific details. * Provide adequate assistance to Production Planning & Control as well as Human Capital & Capability Building in order to effectively develop and assign workforce to Shipbuilding and MROs Centers/Workshops and programs in a way that avoids any possible operational delays.
  • Manage the development of outsourcing plan, outlining job subcontracting to address manpower shortages during peak production demands in Shipbuilding and/or MRO in order to support Production Planning & Control, Procurement & Supply Chain, and Human Capital & Capability Building functions activities.
  • Oversee the collaboration with the Production Planning & Control and Production Center Managers to create detailed programs for Workshop activities, including direct labor, exceptional contracts, and turnkey orders. In accordance, regularly monitor progress on a weekly basis and report any deviations to the Program Management, taking proactive measures to initiate recovery actions.
  • Lead the collaboration with Human Capital & Capability Building, Continuous
Improvement & Methods, and QA/QC to define job roles, standards, and relevant tests. * In accordance, prepare on-the-job test reports for new candidates or external vendor workers.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of test rooms for various production
processes such as steel fabrication and welding, pipe fabrication and welding, electrical installation, control and instrumentation, steel preparation, insulation, blast, and paint. * Oversee the collaboration with CI and Methods to analyze and implement newproduction technologies pertaining to the testing tools and processes in the designated test room. * Ensure proper quality control measures and inspections, to ensure that procuredworkforce adhere to specified standards and regulatory requirements. * Provide assistance and implementing the knowledge in resolving internal constraints between different programs or production centers in Shipbuilding and MRO.Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture or any other similar field.
  • Above 9 years of experience in related field including 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture or any other similar field.
