Along with this, the ideal candidate is expected to be able to offer high calibre advice to the client with regards to handling of said claims (strong presentaiton skills which will be shown during meetings with senior management). A deep understanding of cost management (EV, Committed/Certified Amount) needs to be shown. The position is created mainly to arrange the cost and claims management side of the client project.ResponsibilitiesWe envisage success in this role to include;
  • Maintaining a wide range of Consultant Agreements and Construction Contracts.
  • Handling complex projects from design through construction documents and implementation, including alternative forms of procurement.
  • Reviewing, negotiating and drawing up settlements of client’s variations and contractor’s claims for changes.
  • Assisting in the reviews, assessments and reports upon contractor’s claims including review of time extensions, delays and penalties.
  • Providing strong knowledge in all regional applicable contracts, with specific knowledge of FIDIC (all types), NEC (latest), in addition to being versant in Civil Laws of local jurisdictions;
  • Supporting, assisting, mentoring and coaching others in the contracts unit as required;
  • Completing forensic study of 3rd party Consultants claim determinations and commenting with justification;
  • Writing claims review determination reports;
  • Drafting response letters in relation to claims as required;
  • Carrying out site walks for work completeness verification as required;
QualificationsTo be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 20 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Construction Law, LLB or similar is preferred. Chartership such as MRICS will be viewed positively.Strong experience in Claims/Cost/Commercial tasks is needed for this role.KEO’s performance is founded upon integrity, results, innovation, safety and our people.
