- Streamline Advanced Process Control (APC) objectives with corporate goals and develop programs, best practices, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance APC and economic performance.
- Analyze data from various sources, including process variables, instrumentation, and control systems, to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop inferential models (linear and non-linear) to enhance refinery operations, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Implement APC strategies, conduct feasibility studies, and establish new business cases to optimize refinery operations and maximize desired product yields.
- Conduct pilots and evaluate new APC technologies such as Real-Time optimization, Machine Learning, and AI to contribute to yield improvement.
- Analyze chronic problems and debottleneck complex APC to enhance process operations and economic benefits.
- Provide subject matter expertise to operating facilities' Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams through consulting, awareness sessions, and participation in technical exchanges and conferences.
- Lead technical sessions such as design reviews, model reviews, and commissioning.
- Conduct periodic assessments and evaluations to gauge the performance and effectiveness of real-time optimization solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the optimization team (Real-Time optimization engineers, Simulation engineers, and automation engineers) to ensure optimization requirements are met.
- Lead pre-and post-performance baseline evaluations for APC technologies.
- Monitor economic benefit Key Performance Indicators and provide recommendations.
- Review standards and General Instructions on behalf of the GME departments and act as a leading Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control (APC).
- Demonstrated expertise in APC, control systems, and OPC communication.
- Comprehensive understanding of refinery economics, mass and energy balances is essential.
- Familiarity with international standards and specifications for advanced process control.
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of advanced process control.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage technical discussions and guide technical teams.
- Working knowledge of oil/gas-related plant processes is preferred.
