Job ResponsibilityThe successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong and vibrant research program and establish or build on an international reputation through publication, in addition to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, directing graduate research, and supervising thesis projects.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The annual contract includes two months of paid summer holiday.
QualificationsCandidates must possess a doctoral degree in the field of Economic Geology (Mineral Deposit Geology). The successful candidate will have demonstrated success for high-quality basic and applied research and scholarship. Research interests should complement and support existing campus programs. Candidates should have research focus in one or more of these areas: base metals, precious metals, and/or critical minerals involving a variety of deposit types. Application of geochemical research methods to mineral deposit investigations is desired. Development of the mineral resources of the Kingdom is a pillar of KSA's Vision 2030; thus, candidates should be willing to work on Saudi Arabian geology and its mineral resources. Applicants should demonstrate the potential for successful teaching and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Previous industry experience will be viewed positively.
